Givenchy's latest collection reminds us mere mortals why it holds it's position amongst the fashion gods. The simplistic lines coupled with elaborate designs and decadent materials leaves me speechless and wanting more. Can you ever get enough of Givenchy? I for one, think not!

I can never get enough of nautical inspired fashion! Commonly we associate everything nautical with blue and white stripe tees and anchor embellished buttons, but I recently came across this collection of jewelery by Marc Jacobs with his marine life aesthetic, which makes me gaga for all things nautical. Ideal for all who would like to subtly infuse their wardrobe with a little bit of nautical flair.

Where have I been?....I have just discovered Felicity Brown, a London based designer who worked for Alberta Ferretti, Mulberry and Lanvin before setting up her own label. Being a textual person myself who is fascinated with colour and form, I find myself mesmerized by her collection. Not unlike a groupie at a Rock concert. Felicity Brown, I am your newest groupie. Bravo!

Zimmermann to paint NYC a bittersweet nightshade

Iconic Australian label Zimmermann is due to open their first American store in Soho, New York by the end of June 2010.
I strongly suspect that this undertaking will catapult Zimmermann into the global fashion stratosphere with various European counterparts.
The Spring/Summer 09/10 collection excites me with its feminine sophistication due to the use of soft floral and abstract prints.
To their credit Zimmermann's use of print and colour remains uniquely Australian.

Style is such a broad subject. For instance who and what constitutes style?
These are just some ideas I wish to explore through this blog.
I would also like to differentiate between fashion and style, as it is my contention that style can exist without fashion and "fashion", is the vehicle for which style can be conveyed.
It stands to reason that an individual may be "in fashion"(fashionably dressed), yet may be lacking in personal style and vice versa!??
